This is my lovely sister:
She came down to visit over her 18th birthday and decided to go all out: she cut her hair, died it purple, and pierced her ears. In celebration we decided to make a purple, fruity cake. Since my sis in law who is gluten free is also in town we made my first ever gluten free cake. And it was delicious. The texture was very different from any other cake I have made, but it tasted so good. We made a blueberry/raspberry filling and frosting. I added more of the compote to the frosting than the recipe called for and I didn’t take the time to strain it thoroughly which made the frosting have a really strange texture but it went on the cake and it tasted delicious.
